I have learned to speak up for myself

“Growing up on a reservation was fun. There was a lot of area to run around and use our imagination to play. In our town, almost everyone knew each other so it was good to have friends and family to talk to on a daily basis. Growing up in a small town, you get to see how people live and what their lifestyles are like. You also get to see the little things in life. The biggest challenge I had was adjusting to the city. I wasn’t used to living in a place with so many people. Over the last three years…I have learned to speak up for myself and for other people because people like myself don’t know when or how to step up and what to say…and getting my opinions out there because it’s hard for everyone else as well.”
